( two years in the life of raven )

~ Raven's name was initially Lærke, meaning 'Bird' in Danish. Wanting to distance herself from her past, she eventually choses the name 'Raven' as a reference to both Edgar Allen Poe's poem and the reason for her running away from her family - her being perceived as he bringer of death, as the raven is often used to symbolise death in fictional works.

~ She has a natural aptitude for language (although is little more than average in most other school-taught subjects), and is fluent in Danish (her birth language), French and English, and is near-fluent in German.

~ Although Raven is 114, her claim that she does not actually know her age is true. She has forgotten much of her past and does not remember a lot of the events that occurred in her life prior to her arrival in America.

~ The older Raven gets, the more her ageing rate slows down, so while the first seven years of her life she aged at a normal rate, the next twenty she spent only ageing three years, the next thirty she aged another three, and the forty or so after that have brought her to the age of around sixteen/seventeen.
